ELECTROLYSIS

At Skin Clear we can treat those stubborn grey or black chin or facial hairs with Electrolysis. It is an FDA-approved cosmetic treatment that uses heat or chemical energy to safely and permanently destroy the growth cells of the hair follicle. A short

wave of electric current is sent through a very fine needle probe inserted into

the follicle in order to damage and disable it.

We use the blend method is simply a combination of galvanic electrolysis and thermolysis, and consequently, it is marketed as combining the efficacy of galvanic electrolysis with the speed of thermolysis.

Electrolysis works on all types of hair texture and color, since it targets the follicle “It’s preferred recommended method for permanent hair removal, since it is, in fact, permane —whereas laser hair removal can be marketed only for permanent reduction.”

WHAT IS Electrolysis

Electrolysis is an FDA-approved cosmetic treatment that uses heat or chemical energy to safely and permanently destroy the growth cells of the hair follicle. A short wave of electric current is sent through a very fine needle probe inserted into the follicle in order to damage and disable it. It can be done almost anywhere on the body, though popular sites include the eyebrows, chin, upper lip.

How does electrolysis work?

There are three types of electrolysis hair removal: galvanic electrolysis, thermolysis, and blend electrolysis, which combines the prior two. Both galvanic electrolysis and thermolysis use electrical currents, but each uses a different conductor to create a different reaction within the hair follicle.

Electrolysis is the only recognized method by the FDA to be permanent hair removal and works for all hair colours and all skin types. The principal methods used are in clinic

The galvanic method is direct current, when applied through the probe causes the body salts to combine with moisture in the follicle and produce a chemical called ‘lye’. The lye is very destructive which destroys the growing cells and the papilla.

Thermolysis uses oscillating current to generate heat. The effect is to coagulate the papilla (blood supply) to prevent it from feeding the bulb. This prevents the follicle from producing more hairs.

The blend method is the combination and

simultaneous use of galvanic and thermolysis techniques. This combination method incorporates the high kill rate associated with the galvanic method along with the speed found in thermolysis. It is especially useful in treating the deep, course hair follicles.
